Karen Ingram, a previous Board member, is returning to the Fresh Start family.
Karen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management. She is a retired management professional who worked for Hercules Incorporated, Verizon, Inc. and the City of Wilmington.
Karen is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Wilmington (DE) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, both national community service organizations that support local issues in the State of Delaware. She served two terms as president of the Wilmington (DE) Links chapter, as well as being a board member for 13 years. She also volunteers as assistant manager at the Clothing Closet at her church, is president of her neighborhood association and until recently was a member of the 4th District Neighborhood Planning Council. Karen is also a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA), representing the best interest of children in foster care and assists a Latino family with home-life issues. An avid bridge player, Karen was a two-term president of the Diamond State Bridge Club.
Karen is a lifelong learner and attends the University of Delaware’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). There she is a member of OLLI Council (governing body of the Institute), Chair of Diversity/Inclusion Committee, Ambassador and member of the Marketing Committee.
Karen enjoys reading, traveling, playing duplicate bridge in tournaments, and collecting Black Santa dolls.
